Caterpilin
Caterpilin W.P. (wettable powder) is a biological insecticide containing the active ingredient - Bacillus Thuringiensis var. Kurstaki. It is used for bio-management of Lepidopteran pests
Mode of action
The toxic crystal Bt protein produced by the bacterium in Caterpilin when ingested by a susceptible insect, damages the gut lining, leading to gut paralysis. Affected insects stop feeding and die from the combined effects of starvation and tissue damage. |
| Direction OF Use |
| Preparation of spray solution: Add the required quantity of Caterpilin 0.5 % W.P to 3-4 liters of water and soak it for 15-20 min. Mix thoroughly for proper extraction, filter the solution through a cloth. Extract once again with water and filter. Make up the filtrate to the required volume with water and spray evenly on the crop for proper coverage. For best results, apply Caterpilin 0.5% W.P at an early stage of the pest i.e. in the 1st or 2nd instar stage. |

Handling information
Keep the product in a cool, dry, well ventilated place below 40°C away from direct sunlight in lock and key condition. Keep out of reach of children, away from food and fodder used for cattle.
Warning : Silk worms are susceptible to Bt. Hence, do not use near rearing place of silkworms
