Tricho-shield Combat
n recent years, the increasing use of hazardous fungicides in agriculture has been the subject of concern worldwide. The chemical fungicides are polluting our food and environment with toxic residues.
The need of the hour is to shift and focus our fungus control program towards environment friendly Bio fungicides. Bio fungicides contain naturally occurring fungi which exhibit antifungal activity towards plant pathogenic fungi. Unlike chemical fungicides Bio fungicides can be used at all stages of the crop growth without any fear of residues |
| Bio fungicides can be used for organic farming to produce residue free food. Tricho-Shield Combat TM is a biofungicide containing antagonistic fungus Trichoderma viride. |
| Mode of action |
The mycoparasitic fungus in Tricho-Shield Combat antagonise plant pathogenic fungi in the following manner:
1. Mycoparasitism- reaching out and coiling round the pathogenic fungi, penetrating and dispersing throughout the host hyphae.
2. Secreting antibiotics
3. Secreting cellwall degrading enzymes like chitinases and cellulases.
Secreting digestive enzymes like proteases, lipases etc. |
| Direction OF Use |
A. Seed treatment- Mix required quantity of seeds with required quantity of Tricho-shield Combat (4g/Kg of seeds) & ensure uniform coating. Dry in shade & sow as usual
B. Soil treatment- Mix 2.5g of Tricho-shield Combat per litre of water & drench near the root zone or apply through drip |
