KREF Solution
KREF solution is the product of a biotechnological invention of a process to treat organic manure or vermicompost, with the help of eco-friendly, naturally occurring, agriculturally useful microorganisms in  a specialized fermentation system called KREF Biorefinery.

Concept

Resources derived from nature are never used without processing or refining them. Right from crude oil to grains, everything given to us by Mother Nature is processed by us and then used to the benefit of mankind. The exception is organic manure, which is used in fields without much processing. Obviously such unprocessed manures, fail to show instant significant effects on application, in the fields. If they are refined to enhance their merits they rightfully deserve, the organic manure will benefit the plants more efficiently and show instantaneous beneficial results on application.
Details
Release of nutrients from organic manure, is a slow natural microbial process. This process may take months together or even year to benefit agriculture. The same natural process is enhanced in a reaction vessel called KREF Bio-refinery, with the help of a battery of naturally occurring, eco-friendly, agriculturally useful microbes. KREF refinery is equipped with gadgets suitable for actively aerated aerobic extraction.

The battery of microbes acts on the manure, vermicompost and extract the nutrients from vermicompost in the water around. In addition, the useful microbes also grow to optimum concentration [number], to benefit the crops. The time required for the process has been brought down to 24 hours and such prepared KREF solution, shows miraculous effect on the crops. KREF solution contains a plethora of microbes [bacteria, actinomycetes, yeast, fungi, protozoa etc.], which help in establishing a bio food web in the soil and on leaves. KREF solution contains beneficial fungi, which produce mycelia to the tune of minimum 45 to 200 meters per liter. These mycelia are very crucial to add and kinetize organic matter in the soils, improve soil texture and even reclaim chemically damaged soils.
Benefits
    • Cost effective, easy to prepare and use.
    • Makes the soil live and restores natural bio food web cycle.
    • Provides organic nourishment to the crops.
    • Substantial saving on chemical fertilizer.
    • Injects life in chemically damaged soils.
    • Substantial reduction in use of deadly chemical fungicides.
    • Protozoa in KREF solution keep the population of harmful insects in soil to a reasonable level and at this level; the insect pests may be controlled by bioinsecticides.
    • Beneficial effects on application, within 48 to 120 hours, depending on the nature of crop and environmental conditions. No other organic product shows results in 48 hours.
    • Affordable means of supplementation using indigenously available resources.

Method of application

Irrigated crops, cash crops and floriculture: Once in 21 days @ 20 L per acre. To be sprayed on leaves @ 1litre per 100liter of water and rest of the solution to be applied to the root zone after diluting with 200L to 400Lof water
Horticulture: Once in a month @ 20 L per acre in passive stage and once in 15days at the same rate, in flowering stage to harvesting.
Application method - as above.

Rainfed crops: Mix 10 L of KREF solution in 200kg of manure. Spread the mixture evenly at the root zone on one acre of land. It is beneficial to use KREF solution @ 10 L per acre, whenever water is available, at monthly interval, method of application being similar to irrigated crops.

Dosage
20 l per acre - Irrigated
10 l per ace - Rainfed

Frequently Asked questions

1) How long can KREF solution be stored?
Ans: KREF solution can be stored without any substantial loss of activity for 20 to 24 hours only. This is because the desired population of microbes in KREF solution is aerobic and after 20 to 24 hours the dissolved oxygen levels begin to fall resulting in activity loss.

2) What is the rate and method of application of KREF solution?
Ans: KREF solution can be applied at the rate of 20 liters per acre [5 liters for foliar application and 15 liters for soil application]. It can be applied by routine spraying equipment as it is filtered up to 40 microns. KREF solution can also be dispensed near the root zone by drip irrigation or watering cans.

3) What is the microbial content of KREF solution?

Ans: KREF solution is prepared using fresh vermicompost, KREF Manure and KREF BioManure. Data drawn from more than 50 batches show the presence of aerobic heterotrophic bacteria, yeasts, molds, actinomycetes and protozoa, which are protein, cellulose, lignin and starch degraders.

4) How often can KREF solution be used?
Ans: KREF solution has to be used throughout the crop season at monthly intervals. 20 liters of KREF solution has to be diluted with 200 liters of water and used for 1 acre.

Suggestive doses for crops are as follows: -

Crops Time of KREF solution application Method of application
Cereals, and legumes 7 days after sowing
After every 21 days
Spraying on soil and thoroughly drenching plants.
Vegetables 7 days after sowing
After every 21 days
Spraying on soil and thoroughly drenching plants.
Horticulture and floriculture Monthly intervals Spraying near the root zone.

Disclaimer

Though KREF Solution and the method of preparation of KREF Solution is standardized, taking into consideration all possible constraints, KREF Solution being a biological input has its own limitations. As we supply KREF raw material our responsibility is limited to the quality of the raw material provided. Though we train KREF Biorefinery holders thoroughly, the conditions at the level of KREF Solution producer are beyond our limits. The conditions where the KREF Solution is prepared should be hygienic and care should be taken to follow sanitary instructions strictly. Excessive use of KREF Solution should be avoided.
